Model 1850 Officer's Foote Sabre made by C. Roby & Co., West Chelmsford, Mass. and dated Sept. 1861. Used by Capt. Ezra Stevenson of the 12th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Co. K. Capt. Stevenson enlisted as 1st Sgt. of Co. K in 1861 with the 90 day 12th OVI. He re-enlisted in the unit and fought with it until 1865 rising to the rank of Captain. The unit fought at Carnifax Ferry, Antietam, South Mountain, and Lynchburg. It was part of the Army of West Viorginia and the Army of the Patomac. I purchased this from his great great grandson about 15 years ago for $75.
